The Five Best Ways to Get a Reader’s Attention

If you dream of a career as a journalist, copywriter, or just a social media blogger, you probably know how important it is to be able to write catchy texts. You can have really valuable information, but a lot depends on how you present it. There are several ways to make your reader fall in love with your text in seconds.

Start your text with a short story. It may take two or three sentences at the beginning of the text, but it is very likely to capture the reader’s attention, and he or she will not pass over your work. When we hear a story, we are immediately drawn in and want to know the sequel. This works in the text as well.

Use different facts and events as a headline or introduction. There are thousands of events happening in the world every day. If possible, keep track of them, look for some interesting facts about your topic. If you get to convey them to readers in an easy form, your text will have success with the audience.

Do not forget about infographics. If you talk in a text about some complex information, accompany it in pictures, charts, tables. The audience is much easier to perceive such a format. Especially effective will be a bright, creative infographics, which immediately attracts attention.

Highlight quotations. For example, particularly important points in the text can be highlighted in a different font. This immediately shows the reader all the main thoughts, makes the emphasis on the more important things. In addition, make small paragraphs, break the text into parts. No matter how useful your information is, few people read articles from beginning to end. This is especially true for social networks. People go there to distract themselves, and for every post in the feed, they run their eyes over it before they start reading. And it’s great if you catch their attention with a catchy quote that stands out from the main text.

Show personality. If your format allows for it, be sure to share your opinion on an issue with the audience. Are you covering an important topic? Talk about your experiences and feelings about it, about what’s bothering you. You don’t have to support the conventional wisdom, but be unique and speak your mind.
