The Associated Press and Google announce a new national scholarship program intended to foster digital and new media skills in student journalists. The AP-Google Journalism and Technology Scholarship program will provide $20,000 scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year to six promising undergraduate or graduate students pursuing or planning to pursue degrees at the intersection of journalism, computer science and new media.

The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Association for Women Journalists awards four $1,000 scholarships to qualifying students majoring in print, broadcast or photo journalism at Texas colleges. Students must be a junior or senior in the fall that the scholarship will be used and have a 2.5 grade-point average in their major.
